About Rev. Laverne H. Ramsey
Rev. Laverne H. Ramsey is the daughter of the late Bishop Hubert McKenzie and the late, Lydia McKenzie of Nassau, Bahamas.

Rev. Ramsey is the wife of Dr. Bishop, Jonathan Ramsey. Their union has been blessed with three children: Ashley, Jonathan (Tamika) and Nathan who work actively with them in ministry. Her parents raised her in a Christian home where she was active in her local church from her youth. Rev. Ramsey received the Lord as her savior and the baptism of the Holy Spirit at an early age.

She graduated from Lee College, Cleveland, Tennessee, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and a minor in Bible. She has worked as an accountant with the Bahamas Government and has taught in Adult Education.
She received a teaching certificate from the School Board of Broward County where she worked in a number of capacities for many years. When the family relocated for the sake of ministry, Rev Ramsey became a homemaker before rejoining the workforce as a teacher in the Massachusetts school system.
Rev. Ramsey has served in many facets of ministry, including Sunday School Ministry, Girl’s Ministry, and as local and Regional Ladies’ Ministry President. She has served in the area of Evangelism with Pioneers for Christ and conducted home prayer meetings with the elderly and the sick.

Rev. Ramsey is a licensed and ordained preacher in the Church of God. She ministers at various conferences and services. Her desires are to continue to be a vessel of honor for God and a blessing to the body of Christ. Most of all, she is a vibrant partner in ministry with her husband. They have traveled extensively as a ministry team, sharing the gospel nationally throughout these United States, and internationally to countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, England, India, Ghana and South Africa. In addition, they have traveled to islands including Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and The British Virgin Islands.
In 2010, while on a mission trip to Haiti, Bishop and Rev. Ramsey experienced an earthquake that devastated the Island. Since then, God has given her a passion and love to minister to the people of Haiti. She was inspired to write the book “But Grace” which details their experience in Haiti and is a testimony of the protecting power of God. She uses her book as a ministry tool for sending resources to Haiti.

The Ramseys presently resides in Windsor, CT and she is the First Lady Elect of Rehoboth Church of God, where she is dearly beloved. Rev. Ramsey has a love for God, she believes in ministering to the whole person, spirit, mind and body, and she is humbled by the call to serve.
